The Museum Shop
Records, books, and objects for the devoted listener — curated links, honestly disclosed.
As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. Links marked as sponsored support the archive at no extra cost to you.
Every wing of this museum is free to walk. There is no ticket booth at the entrance, no advertising on the walls, and no paywall standing between you and a translation. What keeps the lights on is this room: a small, carefully chosen shelf of records, books, instruments, and prints, each one a link to an outside retailer. When you buy something through one of these links, the retailer pays the archive a modest commission — the price you pay does not change by a single piastre. Those commissions cover hosting, the licensing of photographs, and the slow editorial work of translating and annotating a century-old repertoire with the care it deserves. We list only what we would place in a real museum shop ourselves: recordings worth owning, scholarship worth reading, objects that carry the story forward. Nothing here is advertising in disguise; everything is disclosed, plainly, above.
